Mustard Seed Supplier — Wholesale Yellow and Brown Mustard
Mustard seed is a spice and oilseed crop used for condiment mustard, ground spices and mustard oil. FUSHKOV GCG supplies yellow, brown and oriental mustard seed to millers, spice processors and crushers worldwide on Incoterms 2020 terms.
What mustard seed is
Mustard seed comes from plants of the cabbage family. Yellow (white) mustard is Sinapis alba; brown and oriental mustard are types of Brassica juncea; black mustard (Brassica nigra) is now grown only on a small scale. The seeds contain oil, protein and glucosinolates, which release the pungent flavour of mustard when the ground seed is mixed with water. Oil content and pungency vary by type, which determines how each type is used.

Main uses and markets
Yellow and brown seed is milled into mustard flour and prepared mustard in Europe and North America and used whole or ground as a spice. In India, Bangladesh and Nepal, Brassica juncea seed is crushed for pungent mustard oil, a traditional cooking oil, and the seed is a staple spice. Canada is a leading exporter of condiment mustard seed; other producing and exporting countries include Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Nepal, while India is a large producer mainly for domestic use.
Packaging and logistics
Mustard seed is shipped in 25–50 kg bags or big bags in containers, or in bulk for crushing lots, by sea, rail or multimodal routes. Seed for condiment milling is kept separate by type and colour to meet buyer specifications.
