Citrus Pulp Pellets Supplier — Dried Citrus Pulp for Feed
Citrus pulp pellets are the dried peel, pulp and seed residue from citrus juice production, pressed into pellets for use as an energy feed for ruminants. FUSHKOV GCG supplies citrus pulp pellets to feed manufacturers and dairy and beef producers worldwide on Incoterms 2020 terms.
What citrus pulp is
When oranges and other citrus fruits are processed into juice, about half of the fruit weight remains as peel, rag and seeds. This residue is limed to release water, pressed, dried and pelleted. The resulting feed is rich in sugars and highly digestible pectin, with moderate protein and a high calcium content from the liming step. Major producers are the large citrus-processing countries, including Brazil, the United States, Spain and South Africa.

Main uses and markets
- Dairy cattle. Citrus pulp supplies energy and digestible fibre and is valued in high-yielding dairy rations as a partial grain replacement.
- Beef cattle, sheep and goats. Used in compound feed and total mixed rations for growth and finishing.
- Compound feed. Feed mills use citrus pulp as a palatable energy ingredient, taking its high calcium into account in the mineral balance.
Europe, the Middle East and Asia are among the main importing regions.
Packaging and logistics
Citrus pulp pellets are shipped in bulk in vessel holds or containers, in big bags or in bags, by sea, rail or multimodal routes. The pellets are hygroscopic, so dry holds, good ventilation and moisture control are essential to prevent caking, heating and mould.

Frequently asked questions
Can citrus pulp be fed to pigs and poultry?
Its high fibre and pectin content limit its use in monogastric diets. Citrus pulp is mainly a ruminant feed, although small inclusions are sometimes used in pig rations.
Why is the calcium content of citrus pulp high?
Lime is added during processing to help release water from the peel before pressing. This raises calcium, which must be considered when balancing the ration.
Which HS code applies to citrus pulp pellets?
Dried citrus pulp is usually classified under HS heading 2308 as vegetable residues of a kind used in animal feeding. The final classification of a lot is confirmed by the customs declarant.
