Soybean Hulls Supplier — Soy Hull Pellets for Feed
Soybean hulls are the seed coats removed from soybeans before crushing, and one of the most digestible fibre sources available to feed manufacturers. FUSHKOV GCG supplies soybean hulls, mainly in pelleted form, to feed mills and livestock producers worldwide on Incoterms 2020 terms.
What soybean hulls are
Before soybeans are processed into high-protein meal and oil, many crushing plants crack and dehull the beans. The separated seed coats are toasted, ground and usually pelleted. Soybean hulls are high in fibre, but unlike straw or husks of other crops their fibre has low lignin content, so ruminants digest it well and obtain energy approaching that of some cereals. Supply comes from the major soybean crushing countries, including Argentina, Brazil and the United States.
Forms of soybean hulls
Typical specification (reference)
| Parameter | Typical value |
|---|---|
| Moisture, max | Typically 12–13% |
| Crude protein | Typically 10–13% |
| Crude fibre | Typically 33–38% |
| Crude fat | Typically 1–3% |
| Ash | As agreed in the contract |
| Mycotoxins | Within the limits of the destination country |
| HS code | As confirmed for the lot (commonly heading 2302) |
Reference values for typical commercial grades. The final specification is fixed in the contract; the final classification of a lot is confirmed by the customs declarant.
Main uses and markets
- Dairy and beef cattle. Soybean hulls replace part of the forage or cereal grain, supplying digestible fibre that supports rumen health and milk fat.
- Sheep, goats and horses. A safe fibre and energy source in compound feed.
- Compound feed. Feed mills use soy hulls to adjust fibre levels and as a cost-effective filler in formulations.
Importing regions include Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Asia.
Packaging and logistics
Soy hull pellets are shipped in bulk in vessel holds or containers, in big bags or in bags, by sea, rail or multimodal routes. Pellet durability and fines content affect handling, and moisture is controlled to keep the product sound during long voyages.

Frequently asked questions
Are soybean hulls a protein feed?
No. Soybean hulls are mainly a source of digestible fibre and energy, with protein of about 10–13%. High-protein soybean meal is a separate product.
Why are soybean hulls better digested than other hulls?
Their fibre is low in lignin, so rumen microbes can break down most of the cellulose and hemicellulose. Hulls of many other crops are more lignified and less digestible.
Which HS code applies to soybean hulls?
Classification depends on the product and the national tariff; heading 2302 is commonly applied. The final classification of a lot is confirmed by the customs declarant.
