TSP Supplier — Triple Superphosphate 0-46-0
Triple superphosphate (TSP) is a concentrated straight phosphate fertiliser containing about 46% phosphorus expressed as P2O5 and no nitrogen. FUSHKOV GCG supplies granular TSP to agricultural buyers and blenders internationally on Incoterms 2020 terms.
What TSP is
TSP is produced by treating phosphate rock with phosphoric acid. The main component is monocalcium phosphate, Ca(H2PO4)2·H2O. Most of its phosphorus is water-soluble and readily available to plants, and the product also supplies calcium. Unlike DAP 18-46-0 and MAP 11-52-0, TSP contains no nitrogen, which makes it the choice where phosphorus is needed without nitrogen, for example for legumes or in bulk blends with a controlled nitrogen level. Major exporting countries include Morocco, China and Tunisia.
Typical specification (reference)
| Parameter | Typical value |
|---|---|
| Total P2O5, min | 46% |
| Water-soluble P2O5 | Majority of total P2O5, as specified |
| Calcium | Present as monocalcium phosphate, as specified |
| Free acid and moisture | As specified in the contract |
| Granule size | 2–4 mm, 90% min |
| HS code | 3103 11 (35% P2O5 or more) |
Reference values for typical commercial grades. The final specification is fixed in the contract; the final classification of a lot is confirmed by the customs declarant.
Use in agriculture
TSP is applied before or at sowing for cereals, oilseeds, legumes, sugar crops, potatoes, vegetables and pastures, and is used as a phosphate component in bulk blends together with urea and potash. Its reaction in the soil is slightly acidic, and its calcium content is useful on many soils. Because phosphorus moves little in the soil, TSP is usually incorporated or placed close to the root zone.
TSP or SSP?
Both are superphosphates. TSP contains more than twice the phosphorus of SSP (single superphosphate), which lowers freight and application costs per unit of P2O5. SSP, in turn, supplies sulphur and more calcium, which matters on sulphur-deficient soils.
Packaging and logistics
TSP is shipped in bulk, in big bags or in 50 kg bags, by sea, rail or multimodal routes. Dry storage is required to keep the granules free-flowing.

Frequently asked questions
What does 0-46-0 mean?
The grade shows no nitrogen, 46% phosphorus expressed as P2O5 and no potassium (K2O), as a percentage by weight.
Why is it called triple superphosphate?
Because it contains roughly two to three times as much phosphorus as single superphosphate, which is made with sulphuric acid instead of phosphoric acid.
Which HS code applies to TSP?
Superphosphates containing 35% or more P2O5 by weight are classified under HS 3103 11. The final classification of a lot is confirmed by the customs declarant.
